Executive Director

The Lindsborg Housing Authority, a 70-unit conventional low rent housing complex, is searching for an Executive Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of the housing authority.
​
The LHA Executive Director will direct and manage all Housing Authority operations, including employees and tenants. The candidate must be qualified to administer and maintain public housing and have the ability to work effectively with people of all ages and backgrounds. The candidate must be proficient in financial management and accounting practices, computerized systems and specialized software, Windows operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and either proficient with or the ability to quickly learn Housing and Payroll software. Candidates should have excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
This position will be responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing policies, as well as ensuring regulatory compliance regarding local, state, and federal housing laws. A practical, working knowledge regarding apartment and grounds maintenance and development are a plus. The position will report to a five-member Board of Commissioners and be responsible for managing a minimum staff of two including an assistant and a maintenance person.

A bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, social services or related fields and/or supervisory and management experience in public housing or a related field are required. Public Housing Manager certification must be achieved within one year of employment. The position includes excellent benefits and a salary commensurate with education and experience.
This is an “On Call” position and upon appointment the executive director must live within 15 minutes of the Housing Authority.
